"Vividarium" is a playful exploration of textures and colors, showcasing Fernbach's experimentation with different styles. The title, a creative fusion of "vivid" and the suffix "-arium," evokes a space teeming with lively and bright forms, perfectly capturing the essence of this intricate drawing.
At its core is a peculiar sphere, seemingly constructed from scrap metal yet appearing sturdy and precise. Its plated surface features unique openings—upward-sloping indentations and circular holes—that reveal a repeating internal structure.
From these openings, streams of colorful bubbles cascade outward, each a vibrant hue of blue, yellow, red, or green. Fernbach's red-green colorblindness (deuteranopia) adds a distinctive character to these color combinations, resulting in striking and unconventional contrasts. Surrounding the sphere are tubes and piping, appearing haphazardly assembled, from which more colorful bubbles emerge, amplifying the sense of whimsy and experimentation.
