Aftermath
2019
24 cm x 30 cm
Acrylics, Stretched Canvas
"Aftermath" presents a haunting vision of a burnt-out and destroyed metropolis, confronting the viewer with a world irrevocably changed. The scene is post-apocalyptic: once-majestic skyscrapers now stand as hollowed ruins, scarred and broken, silent witnesses to an unimaginable past destruction.
Nature, however, is relentless. Dense undergrowth creeps through cracks in the pavement, reclaiming its territory with slow but unstoppable determination. The city, once alive with activity, now lies eerily quiet, long abandoned and overtaken.
The painting is far from static. Billowing clouds of red, yellow, and black cast an apocalyptic glow over the scene, creating a sense of chaos and looming danger. This tension contrasts with the stillness of the ruined city, emphasizing the fragility of civilization. The artwork is more than a depiction of destruction—it’s a stark reflection on the consequences of human choices and a cautionary tale about the world we leave behind.
"Aftermath" is a powerful and thought-provok
