Meet the Artist
Jonas Michael Fernbach (b. 1992) is an artist born in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, and raised in San Francisco, California. From an early age, he discovered his love for creating art despite navigating the challenges of severe deuteranopia (red-green color blindness). His work is characterized by a vibrant color palette, a deliberate choice to counterbalance his own perception of muted colors.
Now living in Copenhagen, Denmark, Jonas balances his artistic practice with his career as a researcher at the University of Copenhagen, where he works alongside his wife. His artistic process is straightforward and intuitive—he paints whatever comes to mind, letting his ideas guide him rather than adhering to specific themes or constraints.
Jonas’s art is a reflection of his approach to life: adaptive, honest, and grounded. Through his work, he offers a glimpse into his unique perspective, shaped by both his personal experiences and his natural curiosity.
